Just a reminder that all HIGH SCHOOL students must return their school issued chromebook and charger by Thursday prior to the awards ceremony. If chargers are not returned with the chromebooks, students will need to pay another $25 deposit at the beginning of the next school year before a chromebook and charger will be issued. Each student's $25 deposit is refunded at the end of their senior year, if both chromebook and charger are returned and in good condition.

Would just like to share a message the school received today about one of our very own...... I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation to Regina Randolph. Our team from Goldthwaite played in Cherokee Thursday night and she was so extremely helpful! She started the night trying to get a stuck ring off my daughter’s finger which was swelling and turning purple. Regina did not have to involve herself in this issue, but she quickly jumped to help. This was my first indication of what a top notch employee you possessed!! Then one of our players was badly hurt on the court and she rushed out to help. She assessed the problem, comforted and advised an upset and scared parent and player and continued to check on the child even after she was taken to the hospital. But she didn’t stop there. Several other athletes were injured during the following games and with each injury she was quick to help and assist. My mom is a nurse so I understand the gift of a caring nurse. There is just something special about their hearts and desire to help people in times of need. Regina was a Godsend to our athletes and I want to remind Cherokee ISD of how fortunate you are to have Regina Randolph on your campus. She is a class act, kind-hearted, caring, knowledgeable, gifted nurse that you are blessed to employ. When you see her, tell her thank you and give her a hug from Goldthwaite! Congratulations to two of our outstanding CISD teachers for their hard work and dedication to our students!! Mrs Laura Gratz received the Mirabeau B Lamar Award of Excellence and Mrs Kim New received the 2023 Texas Rural Education Association Teacher of the Year Award.

Due to weather we are postponing the PTC Color Run scheduled for today 5/9/23. The Elementary Science Fair is Tuesday 5/16/23 5-6pm and the Color Run will follow at 6:15pm!!

The PTC meeting is this Monday, 5/8/23 at 4:30pm in the cafeteria. It's time to elect PTC officers. Even if you don't want to be an officer this is a great way to get involved with the school and community!! Tuesday, 5/9/23 is the first PTC Color Fun Run/Walk. It starts at 6pm at the school. Everyone is invited!!

Due to weather there is a schedule change to the District Track Meet on Thurs, 4/6/23. 3200 m run will start at 10am, running prelims at 10:30 and Field Events start at 12pm. The second session of field events will immediately follow the first session. Running finals at 3pm.

This week: Wednesday, 4/5 early dismissal at 12:00; Jr High District Track Meet in San Saba starting at 12:30pm. Thursday, 4/6 No School; High School District Track Meet in San Saba. Friday, 4/7 No School

See the below changes to today's track meet due to weather: UPDATED SCHEDULE 1:00pm - scratch meeting 1:30pm - 3200-meter run, shot put, discus, and pole vault We will follow the running schedule after the 3200-meter run We will run the JV Boys and girls 800 at the same time, and possible the varsity's as well. We will make a decision on the 1600 when we get closer to that time. As of now, we plan to run all the hurdle races and 100 like normal. IF, the forecast changes then we will adjust as well.

Cheer tryouts are tomorrow in the new gym. High School at 1:30. Junior High at 2:30. Parents may attend the whole group portion and will need to exit before the individual performances.

The elementary students at Cherokee ISD enjoyed celebrating Read Across America Week!! Thank you to all the volunteers for taking the time to read to our students!!

The Cherokee Indians Area Playoff is tonight vs the Lingleville Cardinals at the Brownwood Coliseum at 6:00pm. Come support our mighty Indians!!!

Today we had staff development and STAAR training day. To make the day more enjoyable we hosted our First Annual Chili Cook-off!! The winner was Kari Owen!!! She won the "golden bowl award"!!!
