Today, Dec. 17th is the last day of remote learning for this semester. We know this has not been easy for students, parents or teachers!! Thank you for your patience and understanding!!
Staff will be back on campus Monday, Jan 4th, and students return on Tuesday, Jan 5, 2021. Just a reminder that if staff or students are having COVID-like symptoms when school starts to please stay home. The less exposure we have the more likely we can stay face to face.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Dear Cherokee ISD Community,
In keeping with Cherokee ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all families and staff that a staff member is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. This staff member was last present on campus on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Symptoms started Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
The local health department has been notified. After careful review, we have determined that the COVID positive staff member did not come in contact with students or staff during the infectious period.
While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
If you or any member of the CISD community begins experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Cherokee ISD jbordner@cherokeeisd.net or call (325)622-4298.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Bordner
Superintendent, Cherokee ISD

12/3/20
Cherokee ISD Community,
In keeping with Cherokee ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all families and staff that a staff member is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. This staff member was last present on campus on November 30, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
The local health department has been notified. After careful review, we have determined that the COVID positive staff member did not come in contact with students or staff during the infectious period. The District immediately disinfected areas heavily used by the staff member.
While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
Any of the following symptoms indicate a possible COVID-19 infection:
• Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth;
• Sore throat;
• New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (or, for students with a chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline);
• Diarrhea, vomiting, or muscle pain/aches; or
• New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
• Loss of taste and smell
If you or any member of the CISD community begins experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Cherokee ISD.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Bordner
