Tonight's game against Lometa will be played in Cherokee at 7:30 p.m. Lometa's field is covered in water and the rain is not letting up. We will not be passing out tickets but will be taking fee and spectator count at the gate. Please remember that we must follow UIL guidelines. Face coverings are required to be worn and practice social distancing. We want our students to be able to participate in extracurricular events so please help us by following the protocol.

Just a reminder that the UIL mitigation guidelines for extracurricular events state that face coverings must be worn by fans and spectators as described in the Executive Order GA-29. We must also practice social distancing between groups (members of the same household or persons who traveled together to the facility). I want to thank those that have been abiding by these guidelines. We have recently heard of another school that has been called on by UIL for not following the guidelines. We do not want to give UIL any reason to not allow CISD to have fans and spectators at our extracurricular events nor jeopardize our students’ season. Our students and the opposing teams have worked hard and deserve to be able to participate. Please help spread the word to family and friends that plan to attend these events.

In the 86th Legislature, HB 3884 required the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to create procedures for school districts to provide information relating to bacterial meningitis to students and parents. This requirement has been assigned to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). DSHS created a website with bacterial meningitis information aimed at students and parents. https://www.dshs.texas.gov/immunize/school/meningitis-information-for-students---parents/

The 2020 CISD school year has started off great!! Thank you staff, students and parents for helping making this possible. We know student pick up has been a tad congested/chaotic with the change in release procedures, increased enrollment, increased parent pick up, and construction. Please be patient as we work out the details.
