Cherokee ISD has made adjustments to the 2025–2026 school calendar to make up lost instructional minutes from recent bad weather days and to allow for a 3:30 PM release on Monday, April 6, 2026, for the JH District Track Meet.
Friday, February 27, 2026, is designated as a bad weather make-up day. If we do not have any cancellations or late starts between now and February 27th, we will release at 12:30 PM on that Friday.

Playoff Information for the Lady Indians! The Lady Indians will face Oglesby in Evant on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 7 pm. The Indians will be the home team. If you are interested in ordering playoff shirts to support both the Lady Indians and the Indians please use the following order form. Students and staff are currently safe and being held at the Cherokee Baptist Church while the issue is being addressed.
For safety reasons, please do not drive onto campus at this time.

**Update to tomorrow's JH game vs. Zephyr: Girls play at 5:00 pm & Boys play at 6:00 pm in Zephyr.
The Little Dribblers after school practice scheduled for today has been canceled. Practice will start next week on Tuesday, 2/3/26.
After much consideration and consultation with local officials, we have decided to cancel school for Tuesday, 1/27/26. Although some ice is melting, freezing temperatures overnight and into the early morning hours are expected to cause refreezing, making travel unsafe.
School will resume Wednesday at our normal start time of 7:45 a.m.

Due to the possibility of inclement weather, the start times for Friday’s basketball games against Lometa have been adjusted. All games will be played in Lometa with the following updated schedule: JV Boys at 12:00 PM, Varsity Girls at 1:00 PM, Varsity Boys at 2:30 PM.

Tonight's JV boys game against Richland Springs has been CANCELLED. Varsity girls play Mason JV in Mason at 4:00 pm today.
The 1st-4th grade Little Dribblers will have after school practice on Tues. 1/27, Tues. 2/3 and Tues. 2/10.
