Weather Conditions Monday night (11/11/19) and Tuesday (11/12/19)…
A strong cold front will move into Northwest Texas by day-break Monday, then move south across the rest of the forecast area (Hill Country) through late morning. The front will leave behind a cold air mass, with temperatures falling into the low to mid 20s Monday night into Tuesday. Strong and gusty north winds will combine with the cold air mass to result in wind chills reaching 5°F to 15°F across West Central Texas Tuesday morning.
Although winds will be light Tuesday night, lows will once again fall into the low 20s. Temperatures may fall below freezing early enough Monday night to present a chance of light freezing rain/drizzle and sleet across the I-10 corridor. A light glaze of ice is possible in this area, with bridges and overpasses most likely to be affected.
Cherokee ISD will keep everyone posted regarding possible changes to the school schedule due to weather. Please continue to watch the Cherokee website, Facebook page, phone app and school messenger.
